Being able to move within the apartment using routes centered on the concrete wall not only increases the convenience of daily living, it also enables residents to reconstruct in their own minds the area located beyond the wall, making the apartment seem even more spaciousness than it is in reality. The balcony deck rises to the seat level of the sofa and is provided with interior furnishings that make it seem like part of one's own private area, all the way up to the handrail and aluminum louvers at the edge of the balcony. Along with the appearance of spaciousness, this makes it possible to secure areas in stages with respect to the outside, providing comfort similar to that of a Japanese-style engawa veranda.
