NLa Casa en la subidaA configuration created by topographical features調32( )To the east of the site is Myojogatake, and further east is an open slope that provides a view of Sagami Bay. On this planning site surrounded by nature, a special effort was made to provide harmony with the topography, and the aim was to express the principal characteristics of the site, which is its slope and excellent view, within the space. The topography of the sloping site was used to create a sectional configuration staggered by half a level, made up of a three-level space with an open quality and a 2-level space with a private quality. This arrangement provides the space with both continuity and change. The living room suspended in midair has a pronounced orientation with respect to the view, and although it has a very open quality, it forms a serene private space.
