The group of works in this issue was chosen specifically based on the keyword "scenery." Variant expressions are shown in these works, which are the results of the authors’ acceptance of individual conditions and social requirements and their contempla-tions. Such a diversity of expressions made us realize anew the fact that the conditions in and the techniques with which our works are going into the society are very complex. Mr. Yoichi Iijima, however, proposes, in his interview, a viewpoint that the direction of the current architecture may be explained as a variant of the same single trend. Since Takenaka's design department allows a variety of design expressions, I feel that we will continue looking into the future and creating good designs. (Shin Yokobori)今回は「風景」をキーワードに幅広い作品を紹介しています。個別の条件や社会的要求を受け止め思考した結果としての表現の多様さからは、私たちの作品が社会に出て行く状況や手法が実に複雑であることに改めて気づかされました。一方、飯島洋一氏はインタビューの中で、現代建築の傾向が一つの同じ潮流の変化形として説明可能であるという視点を示しています。多様な表現が許容される組織であるが故に、時代を読みとりデザインする可能性が残されているのではないかと思います。(横堀 伸)Edit Postscript編集後記
