112N14233KIA自動車ヨーロッパ本社ビル&デザインセンターKIA Motors European Headquater & Design Center周辺街区と調和した都心型デザインセンターUrban design center that harmonizes with the surrounding streetsフランクフルト市の中心、見本市会場に近接する敷地に計画された韓国系自動車企業の欧州本社兼デザインセンターである。有能なカーデザイナーを集め欧州におけるブランドイメージを確立したいという建築主の想いに応えるため、透明感の高いガラスファサードを通して活気ある企業活動を都市へ発信するイメージを提案した。街区形状に誘発された全面ガラスの建物ボリュームの中に、オフィス、デザインスタジオ、開閉屋根を持つ内外兼用のプレゼンテーションルーム、街路に面したショールームなどを立体的に構成している。ドイツのハイスペックな環境規制に対応して、ユニットタイプの高断熱ガラスファサードを外壁全面に採用し、特に日射負荷の大きい西面では室内側にもう一枚ガラスを設置することで、エアフローを誘引する厚さ19cmの薄型ダブルスキンとしている。(梅原 豊)This is the European headquarters and design center for a Korean automobile company located on a site near Messe Frankfurt in the heart of Frankfurt. In response to the building owner’s wish to attract talented car designers and establish their brand image in Europe, the image of transmitting the lively corporate activities to the city through a glass facade having a strong feeling of transparency was proposed. Within the building volume, which was provided with glass on all sides as a result of the shape of the lot, offices, a design studio, a presentation room with a removable roof so that it can be indoors or outdoors, and a showroom facing onto the street, etc., were provided. A unit type glass facade with high thermal insulation was adopted for the external walls on all surfaces in compliance with the German high specification environmental regulations. On the west side where the sunlight loading is particularly large, an extra pane of glass was provided on the inside, to give a thin double skin with a thickness of 19 cm that induced air flow.
