松坂屋パークプレイス24Matsuzakaya Park Place 24メタルワークシェードによる表情ある外装Metalwork shade and greenery create an expressive exterior御徒町駅前に駅前広場を創出しながら、310台の自走式駐車場を新築するプロジェクトで ある。無機質になりがちな駐車場に、駅前らしい・百貨店らしい賑わいを与えるため、300㎡を超える壁面緑化とともに、外装材として「メタルワークシェード」を採用した。松坂屋のイメージフラワーであるカトレアを、アルミ鋳物、粉体焼付塗装によるメタルワークとレリーフにデザインし、全工程手作業でそれぞれ製作・溶接したパネルの連続体で構成した。また、オリジナルの配列検討プログラムを作成し、多様な見え方が展開できるパネルの配置を決定していった。落下防止・視界遮蔽の機能と自然換気が可能な開口率を実現しつつ、周辺の街並みに溶け込むような手作り感のある表情で、布を纏ったような豊かな表情を目指した。(石澤 宰)The Park Place 24 project constructed a 310-space capacity drive-in parking facility for the Matsuzakaya Department Store, in addition to a square in front of Okachimachi Station. Parking areas tend to be cold and expressionless; to create one with the vibrancy worthy of a department store facility in a stationfront area, the 300 m2 wall surface features greenery and a metalwork shade as an exterior. The metalwork and relief design formed with aluminum casting and powder coating equipment uses the cattleya — the flower that is the symbol of Matsuzakaya Department Store — as a motif. The continuous panels were fabricated and welded entirely by hand. An original study program for the arrangement was used to determine a panel placement that would enable the panels to present a variety of different expressions. The aperture ratio allows natural ventilation while at the same time fulfilling the essential functions of blocking off the field of view and catching dropped objects. At the same time, the design has a handmade feel that fits in with the surrounding cityscape. The result is a richness of expression, like that of a cloth draped around the building.
