Constructed at the top of a sloping site with 22-meter differences in elevation, the building is designed to be a stage floating above the surrounding greenery. It features a simple but elegant Japanese exterior created through a simple configuration of Japanese materials and shapes. The design is one that can withstand the trends of the trends, and it is placed side by side with the dense interior created through the accumulation of various Japanese construction techniques and visuals. The result is a Japanese-style environment that will remain strongly in the memories of the foreign students following their brief stay. The tranquil presence of the large roof made of Sanshu clay tiles is placed side by side with a tile-roofed, wooden framed, mud-filled fence called "Nobunaga-bei" (one of the three great Japanese high mud walls which can be seen at Atsuta Shrine). In this way, brick is used throughout the entire front of the building as a material that conveys the essence of Japanese culture. The building offers the tranquility of a living space, while at the same time having a powerful presence that expresses the customs, history, and skills of the local area.
