周辺環境と呼応する木架構の体育館Wood - framed gymnasium in harmony with the surrounding environment明石海峡や淡路島をのぞむ清閑な須磨の丘陵地にある中高女子一貫校。キャンパスはコンクリート打放しにより統一感のある計画がなされてきた。今回の建物用途はバスケットコート一面分の体育館である。体育館は機能上、閉鎖的になることが多いが、今回の計画では「高倉台」という豊かな周辺環境と可能な限り呼応する建築を目指した。計画にあたり、既存棟につながる南面はキャンパスの統一感に配慮し高さ6m、長さ46mの「コンクリート」壁、北側の豊かな生態系を有する里山に対しては長大スパン18mの「木」架構とすることで、北面を開放し、緑の斜面から流れる心地良い風が足元を通り抜けていき、里山にリバウンドした間接光でやわらかく満たされる空間を創出している。(中西 正佳)The setting for this project was a combined girl's junior high and high school located in the peaceful hills overlooking Suma, with a view of the Akashi Straits and the Awaji Island. The exposed concrete of the design has provided a sense of integration to the campus. The project was to build a gymnasium the size of a basketball court. Because of their function, gymnasiums tend to be closed structures, but for this project the aim was to create a building that was in harmony to the greatest degree possible with the rich surrounding environment of Takakuradai. The design called for a concrete wall measuring 6 meters in height and 46 meters in length to be placed on the south side that leads to the existing building, in order to create unity with the rest of the campus. On the north side that faces the hills with their rich ecosystem, a wooden frame with a large span of 18 meters was provided. This was done so the north side would be open and the pleasant breezes from the green slope would pass through the campus at foot level, creating a space filled with the soft indirect lighting reflected from the hills.
