東京慈恵会医科大学葛飾医療センターTHE JIKEI UNIVERSITY KATSUSHIKA MEDICALCENTER下町に建つ先進医療施設State - of - the - art medical center in the old part of the city東京都葛飾区青戸、中川の河畔と下町に建つ地域中核の総合病院(356床)建替計画である。周辺の小さなスケールの建物が高密度に集積する下町特有の風景は近代の大きな秩序による全体計画とは異なる、部分と部分の小さな秩序の集合として読み取ることが出来る。病院計画においても多様な機能とスケールを持つ諸室が集合しており、各機能にとって最適な環境が得られる空間構成と開口部の在り方等を対面する環境との応答を図りながら集積した結果、各機能単位の分節・凹凸デザインとして建築が建ち現われた。まるで自然発生的に町が生成される過程のように、機能が個々に積層された有り様は、この地域特有のアイデンティティと呼応し、周囲と調和した表情を創り出すと考えた。(高木 利彰)This was a reconstruction plan for the Katsushika Medical Center of The Jikei University School of Medicine, a 356-bed general hospital on the banks of a river (the Nakagawa) in the old part of Tokyo (Aoto in Katsushika Ward). From the densely-packed small-scale buildings in the surrounding area, a sight characteristic of the unique cityscape of the old part of the city, the building seems to arise spontaneously from an implicit desire for mutual improvement. Hospital planning involves a collection of rooms of different scales and a variety of functions, and the building that was created, with its segmented and concave-convex design for individual functions, is the result of spatial configuration, aperture design, etc., the goal was to create an ideal environment for each function and be in harmony with the surrounding environment. In the same way that a community forms naturally and spontaneously, this building with individual functions stacked on top of one another seems to be in tune with the unique identity of this region, creating an appearance that is in harmony with its surroundings.
