In order to encourage communication among workers, a plan was adopted in which the core was dispersed, and the main flow lines were concentrated in the center via the atrium, and with the offices on the north and south sandwiching an open laboratory. The structure was seismically isolated at the base, and in the long direction elliptical shaped CFT columns and braces were concentrated in the center of the building, with slender steel columns that take axial loads only around the perimeter space. In addition a light shelf incorporating ventilation devices was installed in the window surfaces, to realize a bright office with natural ventilation and an open feeling.
