The building is covered with a traditional chain pattern symbolizing permanence, asking for 150 years of continuous prosperity for the company at this location. An appearance appropriate to this location of Kyoto was aimed for with punching panels + LED lighting + slender structural members + sashes + textiles, delicately covering each story with several layers. Tonoichi is President of the Naginata Hoko Conservation Society, so the aim was that every year at the Gion Festival this will be the background to the halberd in front.
