(横田 隆志)Fusion of Traditional Timber Construction and Modern Building伝統木造建築と現代建築の融合The inside and outside of the RC main shrine building were clad to have a traditional appearance based on the traditional proportions so that it appears to be timber construction, utilizing skills and techniques of shrine and temple carpenters. A hybrid shrine building was created combining traditional timber construction techniques with modern technology, by transmitting some of the load of the brackets to timber columns, not RC, to track the changes in the features with time. Also, a modern timber space was expressed by adopting high strength hexagonal RC columns (with cedar wood grain finish) to harmonize with the timber order of the shrine building, using a vertical lattice in steel with the same proportions as timber, etc. (Takashi Yokota)受付041.拝殿 Front Shrine2. 大階段 Grand Staircase4.待合 Waiting Room5.祭礼殿 Place of Worship3F PLAN S=1:800N532253111124
