With the new construction of the gymnasium and new Number 2 Building, together with remodeling the existing Number 1 and 3 Buildings, the overall external appearance was transformed and continuous flow lines were provided. The Number 1 Building facing Yamate Hon-Dori Ave. has been designated as a historic building by Yokohama City, so the new Number 2 Building adjacent to it has been designed to harmonize with the Number 1 Building and to maintain the streetscape of the Yamate district. The existing school buildings were studied ranging from the facades to the furniture, and the materials and rhythm were incorporated into the design as the “style of Ferris University”.
