At the time the building was completed, Sakaisuji which runs along the front was the foremost high street in Osaka, and the building was once the foremost department store in the Orient. The aging facility was regenerated as a sustainable building for the present and the future by renewing the building function with the aim of improving its attraction to customers while conserving the cultural value of the building. Midosuji is now the main street of Osaka, but the aim was to contribute to the regeneration and development of the attraction of the area by the building harmonizing with Sakaisuji and the group of buildings of similar age dispersed throughout the area.
