08かつては演芸場や映画館が立ち並ぶ繁華街であったこのまちで、市民が日常の中で文化芸術に触れる風景を再構築し、まちのにぎわいを取り戻すことを目指した。商店街に大きく開かれた大屋根広場はまちのホワイエであり、訪れた人とまちに暮らすひとが文化芸術を通じて出会う、にぎわいの拠点となる。回廊状の劇場ホワイエはパブリックスペースとして日常的に市民に開放され、「ハレ」と「ケ」が混ざり合う居場所となる。広場・劇場・住宅が一体となることで人と人の新しいつながりが誘発され、文化芸術と日常的に接するライフスタイルが実現した。(國本 暁彦 ＋ 大竹 大輝)Works文化芸術とともにある新たな日常風景の創出Creation of new Daily Landscapes with culture and artOnce this area was a shopping and entertainment district filled with movie theaters and performing arts venues. The goal of this project was to rebuild a landscape that enables residents to come into contact with culture and the arts on a daily basis, restoring vitality to the area. The large covered plaza that is open to the shopping arcade will serve as a community foyer — a vibrant center where visitors and residents will meet through cultural and artistic endeavors. The corridor-like theater foyer will be open to the general public as a public space where special events and everyday life come together. The integration of public spaces, theater and residences will encourage new connections between people and achieve lifestyles that afford daily contact with culture and the arts.
