The building was designed as a prototype urban midrise apartment complex that is carbon neutral, and the aim was to achieve an environmentally conscious building that allows residents to live comfortable lives while helping to reduce CO2 emissions. The exterior design mitigates the imposing appearance of the building volume and is in harmony with the surrounding environment. The planting design for the building outer walls, exterior spaces and inner courtyard ensures continuity with the vegetation in nearby Yoyogi Park and creates a green center in the area. Solar panels have been placed on the roof, and the power generated during the day is stored in the form of hot water in the water heaters in each residence. This provides energy self-sufficiency for the energy used by residents at night.
