To ensure that citizens are protected in any situation, the building is equipped with two high-voltage power reception lines, a 72-hour emergency generator and so on, enabling it to function as a center for activities in the event of a disaster. It also has earthquake-resisting walls of cross-laminated timber, oak uzukuri flooring, interior wooden louvers and exterior wood tone aluminum louvers to provide the warmth of wood and create an attractive facility that citizens will feel free to visit. An exterior façade system of 1280 mm modules was developed to provide sunlight shielding and enable natural ventilation in the intermediate seasons, using a combination of exterior movement side-pull sashes, interior movement shutters, upper smoke control sashes and wooden handrail louvers.
