Takenaka Europe (President: Masayuki Takinami), the subsidiary of Takenaka Corporation (President: Masato Sasaki; hereinafter “Takenaka”) in Europe, was awarded the Gold Award of Jaguar Land Rover (hereinafter “JLR”) Supplier Excellence Awards in the category of Non-Production Purchasing.
The yearly award is intended to honor those companies among JLR’s all (approximately 3,000) suppliers that achieve conspicuous success with gold, silver, and bronze awards in three categories: Non-Production Purchasing, Production Purchasing, and Product Engineering.
Takenaka Europe is the first construction company honored with this award in recognition of its high flexibility to budget, quality, and delivery period, and successful use of state-of-the-art technologies such as BIM to overcome challenges facing the construction of the Jaguar Rover’s new Slovakia Factory completed in 2018.
At the award presentation held on May 14 in the Cotswolds in England, the approximately 400-year history of the Takenaka Group and its major achievements in countries around the world were introduced. The award was presented to Takenaka’s employees involved in construction at a ceremony separately held on October 3, in Nitra City in Slovakia. JLR Vice President, Ian Harnett took part in the event.
