Takenaka Corporation

On this occasion, Takenaka Corporation (President: Masato Sasaki) has published the Takenaka Corporate Report 2021. In addition to broadly presenting the Takenaka Group's CSR vision, this report has been issued for the purpose of having all stakeholders understand the overall business activities of our company, which is expanding its group and global operations. In this report, the 2020-2022 Action Plan for a Sustainable Society, based on the “Major Objectives(Materiality)” identified in 2020, is presented in an easy-to-understand manner in conjunction with our website.

In addition, we take a closer look below at our company's emblematic activities, which are initiatives aimed at a sustainable society.

  1. Initiatives with the Environment
In line with the Japanese government's policy to realize a decarbonized society, we have made it clear that we will substantially reduce CO2 emissions 100% by 2050. As part of our efforts to conserve biodiversity, we are also introducing the Seiwadai Forest Building Project, which uses our own Training Center.
  2. Urban Creation for Resolving Social Issues
We have also introduced MACHInnovation initiatives. These are intended to resolve various social issues together with people in local communities by visualizing the society and urban landscapes we aspire to in the future. Examples of activities in the East Bay in Tokyo and Unnan City in Shimane Prefecture are introduced.
  3. Innovating Construction Processes and Realizing Diverse Work Styles
In addition to activities to improve work-life balance and the response to the amended Construction Business Act, which requires the conclusion of contracts with appropriate construction periods, Takenaka Advanced Construction integration, which was launched in earnest in 2020, is introduced along with basic business processes.

This year, we also opened a new page to introduce our response to COVID-19, introducing our approach to business in the new normal era, "New Possibilities for Workplaces During COVID-19 and Post-COVID-19-Seven Tips for the Future" and "Five solutions to resolve customer issues.".
