The Takenaka Group's Long-Term CO2 Reduction Targets for 2030 Receive SBT Certification

Takenaka Corporation (President: Masato Sasaki) has received SBT* (Science Based Targets) certification for the Takenaka Group's 2030 long-term CO2 reduction target, which is consistent with the Paris Agreement.
■SBT Certified Takenaka Group Long-Term CO2 Reduction Targets
Scope 1+2* 46.2% reduction by 2030*(Base year: 2019)
Takenaka has set long-term CO2 reduction targets for the entire Takenaka Group with the aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. We have recently obtained SBT certification for Scopes 1+2 of our long-term targets. For Scope 3*, we have set a target of 27.5% reduction by 2030.
The Takenaka Group will continue to work in unison to promote various initiatives for decarbonization and realize a decarbonized society.
- *SBT： A scientifically based CO2 reduction target that is consistent with the goals of the Paris Agreement. It is certified by the SBT Initiative, an international organization.
- *Scope 1：Direct emissions such as fuel combustion
- Scope ２：Indirect emissions from the use of electricity, heat, etc.
- Scope ３：Indirect emissions other than Scopes 1 and 2, including during operation of designed buildings.
