Hamad International Airport Emiri Terminal, Parking Structure & Mosque

Qatar 2014

Emiri Terminal is a special VIP terminal constructed at Hamad International Airport for members of the royal family and state guests of Qatar. The site was prepared by reclaiming land from the sea adjoining the existing airport, and it was planned as a new entranceway to Doha, the capital city of Qatar. Viewed from the outside, its complex shape creates an image of droplets of water spreading after falling on the water′s surface, and its white exterior walls are made of beautiful tiles with gradations of blue. A public parking area in front of the main terminal and a mosque with a blue dome designed to represent drops of water were constructed at the same time.
