a new unifying force in the Abeno area
The Abeno Harukas skyscraper, developed by the Kintetsu Group in 2014, achieved acclaim as the tallest building in Japan with a height of 300 meters.
This structure fulfilled urban functions that Abeno had lacked, such as department stores, offices, hotels, museums, and observation decks. It contributed to the revitalization of the entire Abeno area through its ability to attract customers and ripple effect.
From the beginning of the project, we supported the building use and urban planning consultations to build to a height of 300 meters. Through such efforts, we turned our customer's "dream" into reality.
"Ten-shiba," a changed image of urban parks
In 2015, the Tennoji Park entrance area, which spreads out in front of Abeno Harukas, was redeveloped as a new bustling zone called "Ten-shiba," which centered on a vast lawn square.
Until then, the park had been fenced off with an entrance fee and was not very popular. With the development of the Ten-shiba area, however, it became popular among a wide range of people, from families with children to the elderly.
We participated in the project from the stage of preliminary proposal to the government, and during the competition we provided consistent support to the proposal of a new style of park with vast lawns. After selection, we continued to promote the project and contributed to the creation of an attractive landscape.
Improving the attractiveness of "Tenshiba i:na" Zoo
In 2017, a competition was held for a project to improve the attractiveness of the Tennoji Zoo, next to Ten-shiba. The Kintetsu Group participated in the competition with the aim of further enhancing the value of the area, and we again supported the Kintetsu Group and contributed to its selection.
The goal of Ten-shiba Ena was to further improve the appeal of Tennoji Park as a whole by fulfilling an entrance function for the zoo and strengthening the eating, drinking, and recreation functions that had been lacking in Ten-shiba.
These three projects have contributed to revamping the image and enhancing the value of the entire Abeno Tennoji area. This was achieved by coordinating planning and design with the intention of creating synergy with preceding projects while having each demonstrate its own strong individuality.
