We aim to create a workplace that follows the new 3Cs (3Ks in Japanese) principles—Clean, Comfortable, Cool—where construction site robots can be used as convenient tools by builders and enable more people than ever to be involved in construction work, including young people, seniors, women, foreigners and people with disabilities.
Architectural design has been optimized on the premise that it is created by human hands (craftsmanship) and thus faces multiple constraints (for example, cutting and joining using as many straight lines and right angles as possible). By using robots, we can eliminate these constraints and enable more free and complex designs, e.g., through computation design.
We envision a future in which buildings, along with robots, will facilitate communication, predicting behavior and understanding of people’s feelings, resulting in more comfortable living spaces.
Just as Takenaka Corporation developed the first Showa Station for an Antarctic expedition, a collaborative effort for outer space, an unexplored area (a new frontier) for humankind, is one of the most important initiatives for technological innovation.
